Elliot Brindle (Mark Webber) is a desperate man in a poor financial situation, struggling to look after his disabled brother ( Devon Graye) , pregnant fiancé (Rutina Wesley) and elderly father ( Tom Bower). Elliot is relying on his hope of a job promotion to be able to provide for his family. Unfortunately he is fired for not having the balls to bring in more sales.
Eventually Elliot gets a mysterious phone call, the first of many, which will drive him to do dark and dire tasks evolving his character from a caring, timid family man to a confident, sinister criminal committing atrocious acts for money.
This psychological horror movie was gripping, thrilling and intense with a few twists; it shows how far some people will go for money. This movie captivated me from the beginning and had me wondering what the next task would be and how he would carry it out. I liked the evolution of the main protagonist’s personality, how he became more daring after each task. It was also nice to see Rutina Wesley from True Blood in this horror, I found her quite amusing in the ending scene. I really enjoyed this movie, I thought the last 30 minutes of the movie was highly intense and would highly recommend it if you like dark psychological horror movies.
